Burcu Özberk on her love life: right now, work comes first

On October 20, 2026, the newspaper Hürriyet reported on actress Burcu Özberk, who was spotted in Istanbul last Sunday while out for a walk with her beloved dog Canggu. The actress came to the city during a break in filming her new series, but will head back to Cappadocia in a few days. According to her, when you are far from home for a long time you start to miss it, so on days off between shoots she tries to come back to Istanbul.

Asked about her personal life, Özberk said she is fully focused on work right now, and that if she gets into a relationship, people will find out.

The series in question is "Anne Yarısı" (literally "Half a Mother"), produced by NTC Medya. Özberk will play Zeynep, a teacher described by Turkish media as strong, determined and deeply emotional. Her co-star is Cihangir Ceyhan, playing Ali Altay. After the tragic death of her sister Zeren in Germany, Zeynep goes to Cappadocia to find her niece Ege, whom her sister left behind, and take her under her care. There her path crosses with the Altay family, one of the region's long-established families, while Ali's return to Nevşehir shifts the balance of power within that family.

The series was written by the screenwriters of "Kızılcık Şerbeti." According to TGRT Haber, they are Melis Civelek, Zeynep Gür and Merve Göntem. The read-through has already been held, and filming is reportedly taking place both on the Aegean coast and in Cappadocia. TGRT Haber counts the project among NOW's most ambitious series of the new season, but a release date has not yet been announced.

Burcu Özberk was born on December 12, 1989, in Eskişehir and graduated from the theatre department of the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. She made her screen debut in 2013 in "Muhteşem Yüzyıl" as Huricihan Sultan. Her earlier credits also include "Aşk Mantık İntikam" and "Ruhun Duymaz."
