The Protector

Plot: Hakan Demir is an ordinary young shopkeeper in Istanbul who dreams of making a name for himself in the business world. His everyday life comes to a sudden halt when his adoptive father is killed, revealing a mystical family legacy. Hakan discovers that he is the last "Protector," bound by a secret duty to defend Istanbul from the Immortals — an ancient malevolent order bent on laying waste to the city. Empowered by a magical shirt that grants invulnerability and incredible abilities, Hakan joins forces with a secretive order known as the Loyal Ones. To fulfill his destiny, he must navigate the clash between modern Istanbul, high-stakes romance, and ancient mythic battles. Trivia: Produced by O3 Medya for Netflix and loosely adapted from Nilüfer İpek Gökdel's novel "Karakalem ve Bir Delikanlının Tuhaf Hikayesi," "Hakan: Muhafız" (*The Protector*) holds a landmark place in Turkish television history as the very first Netflix Original series from Turkey. Starring Çağatay Ulusoy alongside Hazar Ergüçlü, Ayça Ayşin Turan, Okan Yalabık, and Burçin Terzioğlu, the urban fantasy drama ran for 4 seasons (2018–2020). Its global release garnered tens of millions of views across Latin America, Europe, and Asia, proving the international viability of Turkish fantasy and action productions.
