Ceren Kaçar

Ceren Kaçar was born on 4 July 1996 in Çanakkale. She began her acting career as a child: in 2004, at age eight, she appeared in a musical at the Istanbul City Theatres (İstanbul Şehir Tiyatroları), whose company she joined that same year and where she continues to work today, having performed in over 2,000 productions. She studied Sociology at Bahçeşehir University. In 2021 she began a master's program in Cinema and Drama at Kadir Has University, where she co-founded the independent theatre collective "Reka Kolektif," whose repertoire includes the play "Aşalım Bunları," now in its third season. Her first on-camera experience came in the short film "Kurtlar" (Wolves, 2024), directed by Ecre Begüm Bayrak, which was screened at numerous festivals. Her first television experience came with the series "Kral Kaybederse," in which she played Gülay opposite Merve Dizdar. She currently appears in the series "Yeraltı" as Yıldız. Besides acting, she is seriously involved in music: in 2017, while working at a migrant camp in Strasbourg and feeling uprooted, she founded the band "Seyyah," in which she performs as lead singer and songwriter; the band's repertoire spans folk songs from Anatolia to the Balkans. Her song "Sarı Yapıncak" drew particular attention. She is also interested in sociology, especially topics related to the environment, women's rights, children's rights, and social entrepreneurship. She tends to keep her personal life out of the media.
